Is alcohol keto?
One of the most common questions I get asked is "Can I have alcohol on a low carb diet?" "Or is alcohol Keto" While I don't believe that the answer to that is one-size-fits-all, I am the type of person that finds success through normalcy, and not limitation. By that I mean, if I can make something I love that might not necessarily be healthy fit into my new lifestyle in a healthier version, I am all for it. I'm all about stretching the template and making things work for me, instead of cutting different foods and beverages out all together. Life doesn't work in black and whites, and neither do it.
There are some days when you just want a refreshing cocktail, and why shouldn't you be able to have it? While navigating alcohol on a keto diet can be tricky, it is not impossible. In fact, I wrote a whole low carb guide to alcohol to help you out with this very thing. However, there are only so many vodka sodas a person can drink without getting completely bored.

I hosted a party on my patio last night and made the Black Beauty drink for my guests. They all loved it and couldn’t believe it was low carb. The pepper seems like an odd ingredient, but I took your word for it since you insisted not to leave it out and it gave the drink a nice little kick with a blend of flavors. Thanks for the yummy recipe! Several others asked for it.

Yay! I love hearing that. So happy you all enjoyed it.

Don't you subtract fiber from total carbs to get net carbs? Above it says that the drink has five total carbs and 2 of fiber. Wouldn't that be three net carbs? Sorry, but I can't figure how it's listed as two net carbs. Can't wait to try this!

This is my new fav drink! I have a wild mint plant in my backyard that grows like a weed...I always have fresh mint on hand. Last night I ran out of blackberries so I used the few I had left and added blueberries...it was delsih! I might try a combo of blue/strawberry next! Thanks again. Just got your book for my birthday....looking forward to using it daily!;)
