    Bacon Cheeseburger Salad

    Ingredients in Bacon Cheeseburger Bowls

individual bowls with ground beef, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, pickles, red onions, burger sauce

    Ingredient Notes

    • Ground Beef: For this Bacon Cheeseburger Salad, I like to use a 93/7 ground beef. If you are using a fattier ground beef, just be sure that you make sure to drain the excess grease. Try this Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Soup
    • Sharp Cheddar Cheese: Sharp cheddar is my favorite cheese to use on these Bacon Cheeseburger Bowls, but you can use any cheese you prefer.
    • Red Onion: For this recipe, I used thinly sliced red onions, but you can also use white onions. This is also delicious with my Pickled Red Onion Recipe.
    • Dill Pickles: You can use sliced dill pickles, chopped dill pickles, or even dill pickle relish. It is delish with all of these options.
    • Tomatoes: If you do not have fresh tomatoes on hand, you can also use canned diced tomatoes. This bacon cheeseburger salad is also great with sliced cherry or grape tomatoes.
    • Burger Sauce: The thing that really pulls this whole salad together is my "Not So Secret" Burger Sauce. It's so good, you might just want to eat it with a spoon.

STEP 5: Top with burger sauce, or serve on the side.

    Recipe Tips and Variations

    • Serving Suggestion: This Bacon Cheeseburger Salad is delicious served with these Air Fryer Potato Wedges.
    • Storage: This is best when eat ingredient is packed separately. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
    • Reheating: I like to reheat the ground beef in the microwave, or in a pan on the stovetop.
    • Add Bacon Jam: These bacon cheeseburger bowls are excellent topped with some of my Bacon Jam Recipe.
    • Make it vegetarian: For a vegetarian version, you can use a meatless burger patty or meatless crumbles in place of the ground beef, and omit the bacon.
    • Make it Whole30 compliant: To make this a Whole30 burger bowl, simply omit the cheese and make sure you use a Whole30 compliant bacon.
    • Swap the protein: This is also delicious with ground turkey, ground chicken, or ground bison.
    • Change the cheese: While I like to make this bacon cheeseburger salad with sharp cheddar, it is delicious with just about any kind of cheese imaginable.
    • Make lettuce wraps: Instead of chopping the lettuce, you can serve all the ingredients with leaves of iceberg or romaine to make a lettuce wrap bar.

Amazing flavour of the mince and special BBQ sauce. It was lovely without the "weight" of the burger bun. I didn't have tomatoes, so swapped it out with sliced red pepper. also swapped the bacon for crisped chopped ham. I will definitely make this again. Thanks for an awesome recipe
