A quick and easy low carb taco seasoning. Skip all the additives in store-bought variations and make your own healthy version at home.

This low carb taco seasoning is a tad on the spicy side. If you do not care for spicy foods, simply reduce or omit the cayenne pepper. Use 4 tablespoons of seasoning for each pound of meat used. To make taco meat, simply brown the ground beef, ground turkey or meat of choice and drain excess grease. Add ⅔ cup water and 4 tablespoons of the low carb taco seasoning, reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.

I love this recipe and want to make more than one batch at a time. However, when you double or triple the recipe, the last three ingredients remain at 1/2 tsp. Is that intentional. Have you ever made more than three servings at a time, at what quantity do you increase the last three ingredients?

Yes, you can double and triple the batch. For double, each ½ teaspoon ingredient would be 1 teaspoon. For triple, use 1 ½ teaspoons.

The actual pepper is powdered. For Example Ancho Chili Powder; Chipolte Chili Powder, Habanero Chili Powder are examples of the actual chili papers that have been powdered.

Thank you Kyndra for ALL your beautiful recipes. I've been doing Keto for a few months now, but only about 90% . I realise by doing this I'm only cheating on MYSELF, so going to get SERIOUS NOW as I know it works for weight loss also for better health. Also I won't feel as though I'm cheating on your ability to try to help us in having better health.
Thank you for ALL the work you put into doing these recipes, LOVE majority of what you have since we all have a little something or other that we don't like.

Hi, in the description you mention cayenne pepper but it's not in the ingredient list. Just to make you aware. 🙂

I would never have thought to count carbs in spices. Quite an eye opener!

The whole batch looks to be about 19.5 teaspoons or 6 1/2 Tablespoons. Using 4 Tablespoons (12 teaspoons) per 1 pound of beef would be about 10.5 carbs. Maybe use 3 Tablespoons at close to 8 carbs.

Yeah, I input everything into My Fitness Pal, using 6 tbsps per batch, and it came out to 23 net carbs. Really unsure where I went wrong here.

Ah, never mind. Found my problem. The garlic powder I chose from the database had a falsely huge number of carbs for some reason. Fixed.

Serving size is "One batch"- how full would it fill a standard sized mason jar? Just wondering if I should double or triple the recipe. 🙂

You could probably triple it to store in a mason jar. 🙂

Is this mixture of spices for one pound of ground beef or more than one? If more than one, how much for one pound? That's a LOT of spices for one pound. Just checking....thanks!

I'm a little confused about the 17g carbs, too, as it says "per serving"???

I don't undersand how you get 17 net carbs for this recipe. Where are they coming from. Also, the calorie count is for what?

The calories and the carbs come from the spices themselves. The 17 net carbs is for the entire batch.
