Description

These Keto Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings are perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. Covered in spices, butter, and buffalo sauce, they are a flavor explosion. The can be ready in less than 30 minutes and make the perfect low carb appetizer recipe.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings (about 20 wings/drumettes), patted dry (I get my chicken wings here)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

For the sauce

  • 1/2 cup Frank’s Red Hot sauce
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon sweetener, optional (I use this one)

Instructions

  1. Add the wings to a large mixing bowl and toss in the olive oil. Combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Sprinkle over the wings and toss until they are evenly coated.
  2. Place the wings into the basket / onto the tray of the air fryer. For extra crispy wings, they should not be touching. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in batches.  Turn the air fryer to the air fry setting at 400°F and cook for twenty minutes, flipping the wings halfway through.
  3. Repeat this process until all of the wings are cooked. The internal temperature should be 165°F.
  4. While the wings are cooking, make the sauce. Combine the hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, butter, and sweetener in a saucepan over medium heat. Heat until the butter is melted and all of the ingredients are well combined.
  5. Place the cooked wings in a large mixing bowl, pour the toss over top and toss to coat.
  6. Serve with blue cheese crumbles, blue cheese or ranch dressing, carrots, and limes.

Notes

  • net carbs per serving: 1.7g
  • To ensure extra crispy wings, be sure not to overcrowd them in the air fryer
  • Instead of making your own sauce, you can make this recipe even easier by using a pre-made buffalo wing sauce
